This free online calculator will create a school calendar template based on the dates of the first and last day of class.
The calculator will then allow you to select the weekdays to exclude from the number of school days remaining. Just get out your school's calendar and click the dates listed as "no school".
Then, once you have excluded all days based on your custom "no school" days, you can then generate a printer friendly calendar that will even list the number of days left in each calendar day cell.
So instead of having to re-create the calendar to see how many days are left in the future, you can just look up the current date on the printed calendar!

To Help You calculate ...
First day of school: Select the month, day, and year of the date that classes will begin (you can select the current date if classes have already begun). Note that the starting year must be the same as, or one year prior to, the ending year.
Last day of school: Select the month, day, and year of the date of the last day of school. Note that the ending year must be the same as, or one year after, the starting year
Create School Calendar Template button: After selecting the school year dates, click this button to display the calendar template below this line. You can then mark the no school dates as they apply.
Number of school days remaining: This is the number of school days remaining in the school year as counted by the calculator. Note that this number will update as you include and exclude dates from the calendar.
Number of school weeks remaining: This is the estimated the number of school weeks remaining in the school year, which is based on the number of school days divided by 5 (typical number of school days per week).
Number of school months remaining: This is the estimated number of school months remaining in the school year, which is based on the number of school days divided by 21.67 (average number of school days per month).
Printing preferences: After creating and editing the calendar, choose your preferred colors for days-off background and text. Your selections will be reflected in the displayed school calendar as you make them. Also, if you do not want the number of days remaining listed in each day cell of the printed calendar, uncheck the associated checkbox.
