About Calculator Apps

Over the years I've received many requests for mobile app versions of the popular calculators on this website. However, due to the high cost of native app development ($4,000 to $10,000 per app), apps were simply out of the question.

Thankfully, recent developments in hybrid app technology have now made mobile app development much more affordable ($150 - $250 per app).

So in December of 2015, I partnered with a mobile app developer to help me convert the most popular online calculators into mobile apps that can be downloaded and installed on your mobile device.

We are building calculator apps from most popular/requested to least popular/requested. So be sure to check this page often to see if your favorite has been published to the app stores.

If your favorite is not currently available, please contact me and let me know which online calculator you would like to have converted into a mobile app.

Below is a list of the Android and IOS apps currently available on iTunes and Google Play.

Tap the app logo or link to go to the online version of the calculator, which is followed by links to the app store version associated with your device.

Sales Tax Calculator App Icon

This calculator app will calculate the sales taxes on the price of a product or service given a sales tax percentage (price plus tax), and if you want, will also tell you the number of hours you will need to allocate to working in order to pay for those taxes.

Plus, if the price you entered already includes sales taxes, the sale tax calculator will calculate what portion of the price is for the product or service and what portion is for sales taxes (in reverse, or backwards from total).

Highlights and Features

Highlights and Features:

Top 10s: this tab for an introduction to this section.

Articles: this tab for links to various articles that are included on the calculator pages.

Guide: this tab for instructions on how to use this website.

Pocket Calc: this tab for a handy "pocket" calculator.

Adjust Calculator Width:

Move the slider to left and right to adjust the calculator width. Note that the Help and Tools panel will be hidden when the calculator is too wide to fit both on the screen. Moving the slider to the left will bring the instructions and tools panel back into view.

Also note that some calculators will reformat to accommodate the screen size as you make the calculator wider or narrower. If the calculator is narrow, columns of entry rows will be converted to a vertical entry form, whereas a wider calculator will display columns of entry rows, and the entry fields will be smaller in size ... since they will not need to be "thumb friendly".

Show/Hide Popup Keypads:

Select Show or Hide to show or hide the popup keypad icons located next to numeric entry fields. These are generally only needed for mobile devices that don't have decimal points in their numeric keypads. So if you are on a desktop, you may find the calculator to be more user-friendly and less cluttered without them.

Stick/Unstick Tools:

Select Stick or Unstick to stick or unstick the help and tools panel. Selecting "Stick" will keep the panel in view while scrolling the calculator vertically. If you find that annoying, select "Unstick" to keep the panel in a stationary position.

If the tools panel becomes "Unstuck" on its own, try clicking "Unstick" and then "Stick" to re-stick the panel.
